Choosing a Cheap Removalist actually costs MORE!
When we think about hiring a removalist, the first thing that comes to our minds is PRICE, but have you ever really thought beyond just the initial cost of the hourly rate.
If you have not, then you may be surprised on how the costs can just add up when choosing a company with a lower hourly rate.
The things you need to consider when hiring a cheap removalist are listed below.
1. Do they have power tools?
If they do not have power tools, then the time taken to dismantle and reassemble furniture is a massive cost to the client.
Power tools just make the process so much quicker than an ordinary screwdriver.
2. Do they have any hidden charges?
Many small operators have hidden costs that they do not mention in their quotes. Fees like a fuel levy, GST on top of the quote, depot fees and stair charges are several fees that they add which can end up costing you more.
Thankfully, you do not have to worry with Move My Stuff, as all costs are included in our quotes.
3. Do they have the appropriate insurances?
There have been many occasions where a client has been left frustrated and out of pocket due to the negligence of some removalists.
It is so vital that the company you hire has the appropriate insurances in case any damage was to occur during the moving process or if an accident were to occur while in transit.
Example – An accident occurred while your goods are in the truck and most items are now damaged with a damage bill of $20,000.
This company does not have the appropriate insurances and you're left with damaged items. It is exceedingly difficult to get compensation out of these smaller companies/owner-operators.
4. Have the removalists received the appropriate training?
Many companies that offer the cheap hourly rate often do not have resources to be able to train their on-road staff adequately which then results in poor performance, damages, poor reviews etc.
Here at Move My Stuff, we have an extensive training program which allows our on-road team to thrive.
5. What happens when the truck breaks down?
Most companies or owner-operators that often offer cheaper hourly rates have only 1-2 trucks on their fleet.
If there is a breakdown of a vehicle, there is a high possibility that they will not have a replacement to do your move.
Info – Move My Stuff has 35 trucks in their fleet.
Thankfully with Move My Stuff, you will not face these issues.
